As development of the all-new Windy SR77 progresses, Cape Horn Engineering has completed an extensive hydrodynamic analysis of the vessel, designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design.
Using advanced CFD simulations and high-performance computing, the study assessed performance, seakeeping, manoeuvrability, and roll stability across a wide range of operating conditions. Particular attention was given to optimising the effectiveness of Sleipner stabiliser fins to enhance comfort, control, and efficiency at sea.
The findings provide valuable data as the Windy engineering team continues to refine what will become the largest and most advanced Windy ever built.
